Throwback Thursday: Chicago Photo Booth

Our first shoot together in our favorite photo booth at the Chicago Children’s Museum. This was in 2007 when I moved and Taylor made her first visit.

I thought I’d share a family treasure that my great grandmother put together, some 25 years ago. It’s a heavy book with a 4 inch spine and holds the genealogical records of those on my mothers side (via her father). While she listed her sources (books from the library, manuscripts, etc), it’s always felt like a strange mystery to me. Kings and queens and and soldiers and greats are all listed. Could I really be related to them all? I think what it really means is we are all related to one another. Without giving away the most recent pages of our family tree, here are a few select pages I flipped to:

“She was an artful and wicked woman” has got to be my favorite entry in the book.
Do you have family records? Any pages worth sharing?

Rings I hammered and drilled and sanded out of quarters for myself and my two sisters.
