Just got back from a long weekend in Asheville. It was wonderful and I miss it (and my sister!) so much already. Photo diary will be up next week.

A few months ago on a chilly snow day, Markie came over and we made ourselves a cozy blanket fort.

We used twine to string between a bay window in my bedroom to several pieces of furniture, then draped a big white (super wrinkly – too lazy to iron!) sheet across it.

A futon pad fit pretty perfectly into the space, and then we stripped the bed of it’s comforter and pillows.

The cats were big fans of it. (Konrad also couldn’t resist climbing in)

We all piled in together.

It was perfect for reading magazines.

And drinking limeade.

And just plain hanging out.

Plus forts are the perfect time to hang out with your sister.

We used these string lights which have a ton of light settings and were a lot brighter than I was expecting.

A clip stolen from the kitchen held the center together.

And these flameless candles added the perfect ambiance.

The tent looked amazing at night. Honestly I want one permanently setup in my house now. So fun!
