The First Weekend of Fall
I just made the realization this week that it’s time to bring out the cold-weather clothes. For the most part it’s been a pretty slow transition into fall, and I’ve been so proud we haven’t had to turn our heat on yet that the season kind of snuck up on me.
So that’s what I’ll be doing this weekend, changing out clothes and hopefully doing a little closet reorganization as well. Since working out of my home office full-time, my day wear leaves much to be desired (it’s way too easy to live in a hoodie when you’re only seen by your cats and boyfriend (who also works from home).
Other plans include recharging the Kindle and getting back to the book I started over the summer, finishing a personal web project, house sitting a horse, a cat, and a dog, and finding a recent movie release on DVD that I haven’t seen yet and holds my interest (suggestions??).

The Coolest Vintage Pieces Online Right Now
My final favorite for the week are five vintage pieces from Wasteland. Gone are the days where I was happy to spend hours rifling through old thrift shops. Now I prefer to look at them online, pre-sorted, and smell-free.
The vintage collection is always changing, see what’s available here.Clockwise from top right:

The Most Gorgeous Jewelry for Your Fall Wardrobe
Next up on my favorite things of the week are the gorgeous jewels of Alexis Bittar. I first discovered his designs several years ago when I was working at a fine jewelry store. At the time a lot of the designs were lucite, which usually is right up my alley, but I just wasn’t feeling it. The past year or two he seems to be doing a lot of pieces with stones and crystals, and I am loving them. Here are my current five favorites:

These Might Be My Favorite Jackets for Fall 2013
Everyone’s been feeling a bit under the weather in my house lately, meaning few outings and photo opportunities. Since I’ve been spending more time than usual on my laptop in bed, I thought I’d share my favorite new findings this week. First up are five coats from Emerson Fry. They’re all so sleek and are sure to outwear a lot of other items in your closet. I could certainly use one of each!

Have An Amazing Weekend
I knew it was coming but I still find myself shocked when the night falls and I look at the clock and it’s only 8pm. Summer always seems so short, but the fall even more so.
This weekend I’m hoping to take out my long neglected watercolors and stay far away from anything that requires a wall outlet. We’re still having warm weather here in Vermont, so maybe a mini-hike or a long drive are in order. What are your plans?

The Definitive Guide to the Little Black Dress
Happy end of Fashion Week! Around this time each September every fashion blogger and style site recap their favorite trends from the runway. I love looking at photos but the thought of trying to pull together sensical categories out of thousands of images sounds exhausting. Instead I thought I’d share my favorite looks for the little black dress. LBDs are forever timeless, however I think they’re especially appropriate going into fall when we naturally wear darker and more purposeful ensembles. I tried to pull together a variety, however seeing as I’d wear every one of these, I probably missed some styles that aren’t to my taste. What’s your favorite little black dress??
