Little sister is modeling this one, which I found difficult to do on myself properly. I need to work on it though, because it looks SO GOOD.

Hairstyle 3/30: Braided Bangs into Bun
This style is one of those that looks super casual but is actually damn hard to do on yourself neatly (on the first try anyway). I did a dutch braid (braided backwards, or in reverse) because I felt like it made the braid more visible. This look would work really well for an outdoor festival or other summer activity, because it keep your bangs out of your face and will look awesome all messy after long hours (messy hair fan, here).

Hairstyle 2/30: Twisted Side Updo
This style is so deceivingly simple I want to wear it all the time. I basically did a low side pony, curled the hair, aimlessly bobby pinned it to my head, then curled my grown out bangs and twisted them into the rest of the hair. Love!

Hairstyle 1/30: Heidi Braids
I’ve decided to challenge myself to do 30 hairstyles in 30 days (conveniently today is the first and there are just that many days in April).I’m starting off with heidi braids because (1) it’s a cool, rainy Sunday, and this feels like lazy day hair, (2) I had extra time on my hands vs. a weekday, and (3) I thought they’d go well with messy undone cat eyes, and I’m really into that look right now.

Lana Del Rey in Watercolor
While the rest of the world might be off-put by Lana Del Rey and her manufactured image, I personally like the look and also at least half of the songs on her album, Born to Die. I recently started painting again, and decided to use this photo of Lana with flowers in her hair as my first dip back into the watercolored waters.
